Resurgens Orthopaedics and Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe Announce Name of New Company and two executive appointments.

Resurgens Orthopaedics and Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (WCAS) announced today that United Musculoskeletal Partners (UMP) is the name of their newly formed company to be the premier physician-owned orthopedic platform in the country.

UMP will build upon Resurgens Orthopaedics' 35 years of experience being a premier, physician-owned, orthopedic practice. The company will partner with high-quality, physician-owned, orthopedic practices throughout the country to build a new industry leader in musculoskeletal care. A combination of operational and strategic initiatives will drive quality, growth, and opportunities for innovation, while allowing the practices to focus on what they do best: patient care.

UMP is led by CEO, Alex Bateman. Bateman is a seasoned healthcare executive with decades of operating experience, including senior leadership roles at United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and DaVita. Bateman also remains in his position as CEO of Resurgens, which he has held since 2020.

Bateman announced two executive appointments for UMP. Clint Adams has been named Chief Financial Officer and James Jackson has been named Chief Development Officer.

Clint Adams joins United Musculoskeletal Partners as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to assuming this role, Adams spent more than 17 years with Ardent Health Services, a 30-hospital system and former WCAS portfolio company. During his tenure as CFO, Adams oversaw all financial functions during a period in which the company grew from $2.5B in revenue to more than $5B in revenue. Adams was integral to the successful acquisitions and integration of 23 of Ardent's 30 facilities Previously, he was a senior manager with Ernst & Young where he worked with public and private healthcare organizations as well as fast-growing startups. Adams is a certified public accountant and previously served on the Board of Governors and several committees of the Federation of American Hospitals. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Murray State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

James Jackson joins United Musculoskeletal Partners as Chief Development Officer. Prior to assuming this role, Jackson spent 22 years at USPI, a former WCAS portfolio company focused on short-stay surgical facilities. During his time at USPI, Jackson served in senior operations and development roles, most recently overseeing development and M&A activity for the western U.S. Jackson began his healthcare career as Division Sales Manager for Columbia/HCA Healthcare. He holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Birmingham Southern College.
